5/20/08 Deb Woodward sends this -
Class of 73 will hold their 35th reunion this summer, July 25-27, 2008.  Information and a class directory (complete with senior pics) canbe accessed at www.mccsc.edu/~bhsn1973
5/19/08 Dan Honeycutt ('73) writes: "I attended UHS from 8th through 11th - and graduated from North.  Stayed in Bloomington 5 years after High School attending IU.  Moved to Virginia in 1978.  Haven't done very well at keeping in touch with many of the folks I knew at UHS.  Best regards to all.
2/06/08 Michael McAuley ('73)  writes"  I graduated from Bloomington South, but attended most of my high school years at University High School"   Michael has a  web page (and there is a bio on that page).
4/01/07 Andre van Bergeijk ('74) says:  "I have had the pleasure of getting in contact with a number of classmates recently. Dan Honeycutt, Neil Sharow, and some friends from BHSS."
11/30/06 Ron Flora ('74) says: "Moved to Northern IN 1/72 fight and scratching. Ha! Just one of many life surprises. I would love to see Graduation pictures of UHS Grads in 74, never saw BHSN. In Classmates.com I've seen many names that are vague but still remember the youthfulness faces. Please send pictures if you have them (subject line put UHS so it doesn't get spam trashed), so I can see some of my old (young) buddies. I remember many times both sad and glad, while attending the rolling hills of brown county. ;)"
9/29/06 Allen McKinley ('75) says: "I attended UHS for 7th, 8th, and 9th grades.  My sister, Nancy, graduated in 1972 from UHS, and my brother, Lee, graduated in 1969.  Growing up in Bloomington just down the bypass from UHS was great.  Lots of great friends and I enjoyed the legacy of two siblings attending before me.  North was OK but I liked the smaller class at UHS.  I have never been able to make a reunion but I always talk with Nancy and Lee about their classmates since I remember most of them.  Being the little brother I knew all the dirt about all of you older Univees!"
6/12/06 Robin Taylor says: "Although I technically did not graduate from BHSN, I was at University School from 2nd grade until we merged with BHSN in 11th grade.  My family moved to Maryland my senior year of high school, but my heart remained in Indiana, and especially with UHS.  I still keep in touch with more of my high school friends than college friends..."
9/16/05 Jeannie Puckett Shaffer '75 says: "I went to Marlin Elementary for 6 years, then going to UHS for my 7th & 8th grades. I left for 1 1/2 years and came back my 10th & 11th grades and finished my seniojbdreesen@aol.comr year in Iowa.  University was my school of choice and I will always remember all the Marlin school gang that went on to UHS.  My school years were full of fun and I loved UHS.  Those years will always be a beautiful memory.  I have had the opportunity to go back for one reunion and enjoyed seeing the old gang one more time.  I have tried to keep in touch with a few of those people throughout the years, and it's always fun to hear from them, to see where their lives have taken them.  My husband pastors a church and it is sometimes hard to get away, but I would love to come back home to this years reunion.

I now have 4 grown children of whom 3 are married and 6 granddaughters ranging from 3 months to 6 years old.  Hasn't life been grand.  I feel, telling my children about my school years and the loyalty that we felt as young people, gives them a good sense of roots in their lives.
9/16/05 Mary Keen '74 registered and said "I'm grinning"
8/16/05 Debra Jeffers Woodward '73 writes: "I went to University School for grades 7-8, then my p'73 - Jeri Kemp & Jim Zimmer, Debbie Perry Barnes, Pat VanSchoyck Brown & Gerald
'74 - Mike Shick & Susanarents moved and I attended Binford and BHS, returning to my childhood friends at BHS-North when it opened the fall of 1972.  I always identify U-School as my favorite place.  I, too, enjoyed the unorthodox methods of education. U-School was a great place, never been another place like it.  My husband is a University, Class of 72 graduate."
2/15/05 Karen Pruet Wogenstahl '75 writes: "I attended UHS from my 7th-Freshman years while my sister, Beth, graduated from UHS in 1972 (the last graduating class).  We were a tight-knit group (grades 9-12) in troubled times (Vietnam), and sometimes found ourselves in silent "sit-ins" in the hallways in protest during classtime. The administration granted those times as they were aware that our feelings and emotions toward the war were real and honest. After all, many of our former classmates and older brothers were serving there.

Kirk Wible, band director, began a marching band, pompette and flag sqad, and although small in size, we were big on pride and enthusiasm, always willing and wanting to please both he and the U-School crowds.  Our first year at State Fair even brought us a rank of 24th out of more than 70 in total.  I still remember the school and fight songs to this day.

When learning we'd be moving to a new school (BHSN), we were all invited to select our school mascot and colors.  Although we were in a position to be active and excited about the move, we were a little apprehensive.  You see, we were the school that had a little more freedom, were expected to be a little more responsible with our time and education, were expected to learn a little more, and were taught (to our liking) a little unconventionally.  We were encouraged to try new things, while giving our true opinions.  We just hated to give that up.  Going to school was cool and exciting as we were challenged to use our brains while being ourselves.

I made my best friends at U-School, and when reunions at BHSN come around, I still migrate toward that "family".

Although we've long moved on, the memories are still there of finer days, where some classrooms were held outside on sunny days, kids got involved in after school clubs and activities, and we always looked forward to class dances and sporting events.  We had Univee pride with Univee red and white running through our veins.
