Everything
worked out
perfectly!
The weather
was
beautiful
and so were
the guests!
All three
facets of
the WHS
Reunion 2012
were deemed
perfect by
those
attending
and left
everyone
eager for
Reunion
2015. All
three days
were
outstanding
– each in
its own
unique way.
The
Friday Mixer
was the
beginning of
our weekend
party.
Everyone
gathered at
3:00 to
visit with
their school
mates and
companions,
neighbors
and friends,
enjoying
some of the
best hors
d'oeuvres
and finger
sandwiches
ever, until
8:30.
Everyone
enjoyed the
picture
booth
creating
memories
with old
friends.
After
the Mixer
parties
continued at
the Embassy
Suites Bar
area and in
some of the
suites. It
was indeed a
‘party
weekend’!
Alumni
staying at
the Embassy
Suites met
the next
morning for
a breakfast
before doing
some
sightseeing
and/or
visiting
with friends
before the
Saturday
Dinner/Dance.
“WOW”
was the most
common
remark made
for our
third multi
class
Reunion
Dinner/Dance.
When we
entered the
banquet room
at six
o’clock, we
easily found
our
classmates
at our
assigned
table. Our
friends were
located all
in the same
area with
other years
close to
ours. We
could easily
hobnob with
those upper
classmen.
The
tables had
been
decorated by
the hotel
staff in our
Wellston
High School
colors--red and
black
napkins.
This time
class years
were added
to the
tables so
everyone
know which
class was
seated at
every table.
Since
our reunions
are ‘black
tie
optional’,
ladies were
beautifully
dressed in
evening
attire while
many men
wore
tuxedos. The
men were
handsome,
the women
were
beautiful.
We all were
happy to be
reunited
with old
friends.
Rev. Tom Noon '62
gave an
blessing
before our
bountiful
plates of
food were
served by a
friendly,
willing and
gracious
staff. Food
was
plentiful,
delicious,
cooked to
perfection
and best of
all, HOT.
Both red and
white wine
was was
served with
the meal and
coffee or
soda was
available
all evening.
Music
was supplied
by a DJ who
did a great
job of
playing
music for
all the
different
eras. Many
alumni
enjoyed
dancing the
old steps
again.
Remarkably,
everything
ran very
smoothly
from picking
up welcoming
bags to
having class
pictures
taken,
although the
committee
sadly admits
to and
apologizes
for having
lost one
name tag out
of the over
some 200
created.
Goodie bags
were
gratefully
received and
explored.
Emcee
Wanda (Cornman)
Hydar
’60, kept
the program
interesting
and moving.
Ruth Johnson
Vogel ’36
was
presented
with two
dozen
roses as
being the
oldest class
represented. Who
could
believe that
that
beautiful
woman
represented
the Class of
‘36!
Roger Noon '62 gave a music presentation celebrating
many class
mile stones,
'47, '52,
'57, '62,
and '67
When the
WHS anthem
was sung,
many found
tears
running down
their faces
at the verse
which
begins, “and
when the
years have
vanished”
